Lithograph by Henri Rivière Les Aspects de la Nature - The Twilight A5491. The work is authentic and old. For the condition, note a tear in the margin at the bottom (0.6 mm). The lithograph is very fresh in color; once framed, the flaws will be invisible. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) is a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing, then with intaglio engraving, specifically etching in 1882. At the same time, he embarked on a career as a stage director and set designer, in 1886, for the shadow theatre at the Chat Noir cabaret, performances he enhanced by creating very innovative colored sets. He then dedicated himself exclusively to painting and engraving and made a name for himself in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (he painted about a thousand watercolors).
