We note a tear in the margin at the bottom right (5.5 cm), a missing piece at the top, ink marks, small stains, and yellowing of the paper. On the lithograph, the end of the tear in the margin at the bottom, with small stains in places. The colors are perfect; once framed, these flaws will be less visible. We have taken a maximum of photos of the flaws so that you can assess the condition. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing and then with soft-ground etching and specifically etching in 1882. At the same time, he started a career as a stage director and set designer in 1886 at the shadow theater of the Chat Noir cabaret, enhancing performances by creating innovative colored sets. He then exclusively devoted himself to painting and engraving and established himself in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (he painted about a thousand watercolors).
