Lithograph by Henri Rivière The Aspects of Nature - The Bay A5486 This lithograph "The Aspects of Nature - The Bay" is signed by Henri Rivière and has a red stamp in the lower left corner, along with the publisher's stamp in the lower right corner. We note minimal spots in the margin, small tears (0.2 to 1 cm), a loss on the right side (4 cm), and a slightly creased corner. The colors are perfect, and once framed, these defects will be less noticeable. We have taken as many photos of the flaws as possible so that you can assess the condition. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing and then moved on to soft-ground etching, specifically copperplate engraving in 1882. At the same time, he started a career as a director and set designer in 1886, producing shadow theater shows at the Chat Noir cabaret, enhancing them with innovative color backdrops. He then devoted himself entirely to painting and engraving, establishing himself in the history of etching, printing, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (he painted about a thousand watercolors).
