We note in the margin some small ink lines and minimal spots, three small tears, and a missing piece. On the lithograph, there are small spots (minimal). Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing, then moved to intaglio engraving, specifically etching in 1882. At the same time, he started a career as a stage director and set designer in 1886 at the shadow theater of the Chat Noir cabaret, improving performances by creating color sets, which were very innovative. He then dedicated himself exclusively to painting and engraving and established himself in the history of etching, printing, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (he painted approximately a thousand watercolors).
