The work is authentic and antique. Regarding the condition, there is a small tear (0.3 cm) at the bottom in the margin, some ink marks and small stains, and slightly creased corners. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing, then moved on to soft-ground etching and specifically etching in 1882. In parallel, he started a career as a director and set designer in 1886, with shadow theater at the cabaret du Chat noir, enhancing performances by creating innovative colored sets. He then dedicated himself exclusively to painting and engraving, establishing himself in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (he painted about a thousand watercolors).
