Lithograph by Henri Rivière The Magic of the Hours - The First Quarter A5576 This lithograph “The Magic of the Hours - The First Quarter” is signed by Henri Rivière and has a red stamp in the lower right corner. The work is authentic and old. As for the condition, there are small stains and ink marks in the margin. On the litho, we note traces, small stains, and lack of ink. The lithograph is very fresh in color; once framed, most defects will be barely visible. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing and then with intaglio printing specifically etching in 1882. Meanwhile, he started a career as a director and set designer, in 1886, for shadow plays at the Chat noir cabaret, shows which he enhanced by creating colorful sets, very innovative for the time. He then dedicated himself exclusively to painting and engraving, establishing himself in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (he painted around a thousand watercolors).
