The lithograph is very fresh in color; once framed, most defects will be barely visible. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing and then with intaglio printing specifically etching in 1882. Meanwhile, he started a career as a director and set designer, in 1886, for shadow plays at the Chat noir cabaret, shows which he enhanced by creating colorful sets, very innovative for the time. He then dedicated himself exclusively to painting and engraving, establishing himself in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (he painted around a thousand watercolors).
