Lithograph by Henri Rivière The Enchantment of the Hours - The Snow A5473 This lithograph “The Enchantment of the Hours - The Snow” is signed by Henri Rivière and has a red stamp in the bottom left corner. There are some small ink marks and minor stains in the margin, a slight vertical fold mark on the right, and a difference in size between the top margin and the bottom margin. There are also some small stains on the litho in places. Once framed, these defects will be less noticeable. We have taken a maximum of photos of the defects so you can assess the condition. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing and then transitioned to soft-ground engraving, specifically etching in 1882. Concurrently, he started a career as a stage director and set designer in 1886, at the shadow theater in the Chat Noir cabaret, improving the performances by creating innovative color sets. He then dedicated himself exclusively to painting and engraving, establishing himself in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (he painted around a thousand watercolors).
