Lithograph by Henri Rivière The Fairyland of Hours - The Storm A5362 This lithograph “The Fairyland of Hours - The Storm” is signed by Henri Rivière and bears a red stamp in the bottom left corner. There is a grayish strip noted in the margin on the left. The colors are perfect; once framed, the defects will be barely noticeable. We have taken numerous photos of the defects so that you can assess the condition. Sold as is. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) is a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing and then moved on to soft-ground etching, specifically aquatint, in 1882. At the same time, he started a career as a director and set designer in 1886 at the shadow theater at the Chat Noir cabaret, enhancing the shows by creating innovative colored scenery. He then dedicated himself exclusively to painting and engraving, establishing himself in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (having painted around a thousand watercolors).
