The work is authentic and old, printed and published by Eugène Verneau. In terms of condition, there are small ink marks and pinholes in the margin, as well as traces of creasing. The lithograph's colors are very fresh, and once framed, most of the defects will be less visible. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) is a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing and then copperplate engraving, specifically etching in 1882. At the same time, he started a career as a director and set designer in 1886, for shadow theater at the Chat Noir cabaret, enhancing the performances by creating very innovative colored sets. He then devoted himself exclusively to painting and engraving and established himself in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (he painted about a thousand watercolors).
