The work is authentic and antique. As for the condition, there are creases in the margin, small tears (0.5 cm), ink marks, slightly curled corners, and small stains. On the lithograph, there is a small ink loss at the top and very tiny spots. The lithograph is very fresh in color, and once framed, most defects will be barely visible. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing, then moved on to etching and specifically drypoint in 1882. At the same time, he started a career as a director and set designer in 1886 at the shadow theater of the Chat Noir cabaret, enhancing the performances by creating innovative colored sets. He then dedicated himself exclusively to painting and engraving and made his mark in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (he painted around a thousand watercolors).
