Lithograph by Henri Rivière The Aspects of Nature - The Sea A5599 This lithograph “The Aspects of Nature - The Sea” is signed Henri Rivière at the bottom left. The work is authentic and old. In terms of condition, there are small stains and ink lines in the margin. On the lithograph, there are small spots in places. The lithograph has very fresh colors, and once framed, most defects will be less noticeable. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing and then moved on to intaglio printing, specifically etching, in 1882. At the same time, he started a career as a director and set designer in 1886, for shadow theater at the Chat Noir cabaret, enhancing performances by creating innovative colored sets. He then devoted himself exclusively to painting and engraving and made a mark in the history of etching, prints, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (he painted approximately a thousand watercolors).
