Lithograph by Henri Rivière Au Vent de Noroît - Les Vieux A5475 This lithograph “Au Vent de Noroît - Les Vieux” is signed by Henri Rivière and bears a red stamp in the bottom right corner. The work is authentic and vintage. In terms of condition, there are some creases on the left margin and small stains in places. On the litho, there are small stains. The lithograph is very fresh in color; once framed, most defects will be less noticeable. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing and then moved to soft ground engraving, specifically etching, in 1882. Concurrently, he started a career as a director and set designer in 1886, at the shadow theater of the Chat Noir cabaret, enhancing performances by creating very innovative colored backdrops. He then devoted himself exclusively to painting and engraving, making a mark in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (he painted about a thousand watercolors).
