Color lithograph by Jean-Denis Malclès The Bride and Her Friends H3985 This work titled "The Bride and Her Friends" depicts three women in attire. It is countersigned. You will note that the frame was likely added later. Jean-Denis Malclès (1912-2002) was a French painter, poster artist, and decorator. He is particularly known for creating the costumes for the Frères Jacques and for several movie and theater posters, including the one for Jean Cocteau's La Belle et la Bête. From 1948 to 1981, he created the sets and costumes for most of Jean Anouilh's plays, establishing a true osmosis with the author. He also worked for the Renaud-Barrault Company. Regarding the condition, there are stains, foxing, scratches, and wear on the frame; however, the artwork is in generally acceptable condition. Please make sure to detail the photos.
