The model 1822 saber is a French cavalry saber, for troops and officers. It was introduced on January 18, 1822, by the cavalry committee, replacing all previous models: An IX, An XI, 1816, and 1817 for light cavalry, and An XI, An XIII, and 1816 for heavy cavalry.

Superb saber of the Belgian cavalry inspired by the French model 1822, with its leather knot. Beautiful grip with a three-branch guard, filigree present in its original condition, no play, massive and solid. Grip with floral decorations typical of officer models of the period. Very beautiful blade, curved with a sharp edge. Iron sheath in its original state to be cleaned, with one ring, all in very good condition! A very beautiful and massive piece in its original condition! With its original leather tie still present. Very pleasant to hold in hand and even more enjoyable to observe in a display case!!!
