Lithograph by Henri Rivière The Fairyland of Hours - The Tempest A5661 This lithograph “The Fairyland of Hours - The Tempest” is signed by Henri Rivière and has a red stamp in the lower left corner. The work is authentic and old. Regarding its condition, there are small stains and ink marks in the margin, and a bent corner. The lithograph is very fresh in color, and once framed, most of the defects will be less visible. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) is a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing and then with soft-ground engraving, specifically etching in 1882. At the same time, he started a career as a director and set designer in 1886, for shadow theater at the Chat Noir cabaret, enhancing performances by creating innovative colored sets. He then devoted himself exclusively to painting and engraving, establishing himself in the history of etching, prints, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (he painted around a thousand watercolors).
