The lithograph has very fresh colors; once framed, most of the flaws will be less visible. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing and then with etching and specifically the etching technique in 1882. At the same time, he started a career as a stage director and set designer in 1886 at the shadow theater at the Chat Noir cabaret, enhancing performances with the creation of very innovative color sets. He then dedicated himself exclusively to painting and engraving, establishing himself in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (he painted about a thousand watercolors).
