Lithograph by Henri Rivière Au Vent de Noroît - Les Mousses A5906 This lithograph “Au Vent de Noroît - Les Mousses” is signed Henri Rivière and bears a red stamp in the lower right corner. The colors are perfect; they are fresh. This work has never been exhibited, and its condition is perfect. We note a slightly bumped corner at the top right, which will be invisible when the work is framed. We have taken a maximum of photos of the defects so that you can assess the state. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) is a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing and then with soft-ground etching, specifically starting with etching in 1882. In parallel, he started a career as a director and set designer in 1886 at the shadow theater at the Chat noir cabaret, enhancing performances with the creation of very innovative colorful sets. He then dedicated himself exclusively to painting and engraving, establishing himself in the history of etching, prints, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (he painted about a thousand watercolors).
