HISTORICAL CONTEXT:
The Kingdom of Prussia (in German: Königreich Preußen) was a former European state formed in 1701 and integrated into the German Empire in 1871, of which it was the main component; it disappeared in 1918 when Germany became a republic.
The Kingdom of Prussia became a European-ranked state under the reign of Frederick II (1740 – 1786), and then played an essential role from 1792 to 1815 as an adversary of France (Wars of the Revolution and the Empire), from 1815 to 1866 as an adversary of Austria (unification of Germany excluding Austria), and again from 1870-71 as an adversary of France (Franco-Prussian War).

Stunning straight blade with two central grooves. VERY BEAUTIFUL BLADE, in good condition, needs cleaning. Marking: '' WEYERSBERG KIRSCHBAUM & C° SOLINGEN ''!
