The French polytechnic school:
It was founded in 1794 by the National Convention under the name of the Central School of Public Works and militarized in 1804 by Napoleon I. Originally located in Paris, the school has been in Palaiseau (Essonne) since 1976, in the heart of the Paris-Saclay technological hub. It has the status of a public establishment of a scientific, cultural and professional nature (EPSCP-GE), constitutes a major military school whose engineering cycle is placed under the supervision of the Ministry of the Armed Forces and is a founding member of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris . It is known mainly for its training of engineers, whose students and former students are called “polytechniciens”.

Superb French officer's sword, polytechnic officer type. Guard decorated with floral ornaments, armor and crossed cannons, guard with one branch, immobile keyboard. Superb blade, in its original state, with two gutters, marked. Steel scabbard in its original state with bronze trim, marked with the number ''399'' at the same number as the saber ''399''. Missing watermark, slight play. With its leather harness and its very rare golden parade epaulettes with the original red box. A magnificent piece in its original condition, in very good condition, to be seized by any knowledgeable collector and enthusiast of the French amee. Very pleasant to hold in your hands and look at in the window! Splendid piece, totally and 100% original!
