The Restoration, a term that became common in the years 1814-1815, is the period in French history corresponding to the restoration of the monarchy as a political regime in France, or more precisely in what was left of the Napoleonic Empire.
DIMENSIONS:
Total length: 90.3 cm
Blade length: 73.6 cm
Grip length: 15 cm
Blade width: 2.2 cm
Description:
Here is a superb sword/glaive of a French general or high dignitary dating from the 19th century (to be determined precisely). The grip is engraved in bronze with its original gilding, featuring a coat of arms with three crowns and mother-of-pearl plaques. The blade is straight with a central fuller in a triangular type in the Empire style. The scabbard, with traces due to time, is in very good condition in black leather with gilded bronze fittings and original gilding! Purchased at a fair in a lot. I am parting with it because it is not my area of collection; the piece is absolutely stunning! Very beautiful piece, very pleasant to hold and even more to admire in its display case. This piece sells for between 2500-3500 euros at an auction house and around 2000 euros without its scabbard.
Don't let this magnificent piece slip through your fingers. The price is a bargain and the saber is original!
By purchasing this superb piece, you will complete your collection with an invaluable relic that will find a prominent place in your display dedicated to palash, shamshir, or sabers known as "in the Mamluk style," that’s for sure! So don't wait any longer because this is the only example in stock!
