Here is a superb sword / saber of a French general or high dignitary dating from the 19th century (to be determined precisely). The handle is engraved in bronze with its original gilding, featuring a coat of arms with flowers and a knight's head. The blade is straight with a central fuller of triangular type in the Empire style. Scabbard, with traces due to time, in very good condition in black leather and gilded bronze fittings with original gilding! Purchased at a fair in a lot. I'm letting it go because it's not my area of collection, the piece is absolutely superb! Very beautiful piece, very pleasant to hold and even more to admire in your collection display. The piece sells for between 2500-3500 euros at an auction house and around 2000 euros without its scabbard.
