A superb and rare Soviet Russian dagger from the army, model 1955. The Soviet model is inspired by the Tsarist Navy dagger model 1907. From this date, the dagger is worn only off-duty, visibly on a belt, with the uniform, without the ceremonial sash, except for engineer-mechanics who also have it in parade uniform instead of the saber. The dagger will continue to equip the Russian army after the revolution: the army, the navy, and the rarer Soviet aviation dagger. The emperor's monogram is replaced by communist symbols, and the award daggers (gold weapon, St. George, St. Anne) no longer exist. One can only mention a few examples with a metal plaque engraved and fixed on the scabbard, for the retirement of the officer or as a military gift from the Soviet leaders. For more information, feel free to consult the works of A.N. Kulinski or the weapons gazette N°146 from October 1985.
