The model 1854 saber is a French cavalry saber for troops and officers. It was adopted in 1854 by the carabiniers, marking a return to the straight blade for heavy cavalry. It was later adopted by reserve cavalry and then by the dragoons.

Stunning officer saber of the French dragon, based on the model 1854. Golden brass fittings, with its superb original gilding. Guard with four branches, decorated with floral reliefs. Simply sublime! Stamps on the scabbard: '' G J ''. Inscription visible on the edge '' COULAUX KLINGENTHAL... ''. Blade with two central grooves, quite long and massive, latte-type. Scabbard with one ring. No play, well-presented watermark and leather wrap in place, a minor imperfection on the horn that can be easily restored! Leather frog. The saber is in good condition, with signs of time, 100% original and pure period!!!
