The work is authentic and old. In terms of condition, there are signs of creases in the margin, a small tear (0.2 cm), a missing piece in one corner (0.2 cm), small stains and dirt. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing and then with soft-ground etching, specifically drypoint in 1882. At the same time, he started a career as a director and set designer in 1886, for the shadow theater at the Chat Noir cabaret, improving performances with innovative colorful sets. He then dedicated himself exclusively to painting and engraving, establishing himself in the history of etching, prints, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (he painted approximately a thousand watercolors).
