Description

Rare very beautiful covered vase or Persian pottery jar, Iznik, fully hand-painted in turquoise with traditional floral, vegetal, and geometric motifs in black. Vintage from the 50s-60s. Unmarked. Relatively large, baluster shape, rounded belly, small round base, slightly flared neck, small lid with a high knob. Pretty craftsmanship, fine decoration, beautiful glazing. 35cm total height, about 17cm maximum diameter. Very good condition, some natural glaze crazing, superficial and discreet, a few small discreet manufacturing defects, a small very discreet restoration on the lid, see photos. Approximately 1.2kg.
