The Order of Leopold (in Dutch: Leopoldsorde) is the most important military and civil order of the Kingdom of Belgium. The order functions as a Belgian dynastic order, under the auspices of the King of the Belgians. Established in 1832, it is named after King Leopold I.
The Order of the Crown (in Dutch: Kroonorde) is the second order of the Kingdom of Belgium, established on October 15, 1897, by King Leopold II as sovereign of the Independent State of the Congo. The original purpose of this order was to honor heroic deeds and exemplary services rendered in the Congo State.
