Historical context :
Superb German saber called ''à la Blucher''. In force in the Prussian cavalry and infantry. Based on the 1811 model, which was used from the Napoleonic Wars (notably at Waterloo) until the mid-20th century. This saber was largely inspired by the English model called ''Model 1796'', with the typical shape of the guard and the curved blade, which is said to have caused havoc in the French army.

Blade length: 62.5 cm
Handle length: 13.5 cm
Blade width: 2.5 cm

Here is a magnificent Bavarian police saber (?), probably dating from the second part of the 19th century. The blade and sheath are in good condition. The scabbard is marked: ''57''. The handle is in ray skin, shagreen with its filigree. The scabbard is made of leather with bronzed steel trim painted black. Superb piece, very pleasant to hold in the hands and even more pleasant to observe in the window, 100% original guaranteed!
