Beautiful handcrafted bronze mask from Africa, Bamoun, Cameroon. Ethnic art. Traditional lost-wax casting technique. Decorative purpose, suitable for wall display or on a pedestal, vintage production from the 60s to 80s. Depicting a smiling bearded man with bulging eyes, crowned king with a face and 2 lizards among other stylized motifs. Rounded shape. Hollow mouth and nostrils. Nice detail work, well-finished model. In bronze, brown, and gold tones, with some bluish and white oxidation. Height 26cm, width 23cm, maximum depth 7cm. Very good condition, time patina and natural oxidation, attractive antique appearance. Approximately 1.2kg.
