Very imposing and superb bust of a woman made of dark solid wood, carved from the solid using a chisel, antique from the 19th century circa 1860-1920, European folk art, unique piece. The face is slightly smiling but pretty. The back of the skull is cut diagonally, probably because it was placed in a niche or a writing desk, a piece of furniture? Maximum height 44-45cm, width and depth 23-24cm. Very well preserved for its age, with some wood cracks and old losses, a few scars on the face, particularly on the nose, and some small insect holes, a harmonious ensemble reflecting its history and beautiful time-worn patina. Weighs approximately 9.2kg.
