Fascinating decorative wall mask, made of handcrafted glazed ceramic/pottery in a style similar to the masks of the Dan tribe. Vintage or antique, unsigned, reminiscent of certain productions from Vallauris created in the 1960s. Stylized face with full lips and a pointed chin, high arched eyebrows, fine nose bridge, small round skull, half-closed crescent moon eyes, high ears, and cheeks marked with 2 vertical scarifications. The surface of the face is coated in a glossy black glaze, almost metallic, with silver reflections, dark red lips, scarification, and slightly translucent white glazed eyes revealing the earthy orange color underneath, and midnight blue pupils. Some green effects can be noted on the edges of the motifs in the black glaze. 22-23cm maximum height, 13-14cm maximum width, 6-7cm thickness. Very good overall condition, with a few discreet chips, including 2 on the right edge of the lower lip, one on the left cheek, 3 on the edge of the left cheek's scarifications, and one above the right eye, all very discreet, 1mm or less. Approximately 600-750g. A rare or unique piece.
