A trio of decorative mallards in full flight, sculpted and hand-painted.

The three ducks form a fixed wall composition. They can be arranged as a group, as shown in the photos, or in an ascending line: it’s up to the owner to give them their dynamic.

Each bird is made up of several pieces of wood (visible on the back): the head and neck, the body, and the raised wing. The feathers are engraved in relief. The deep green of the head and wings, the cream of the collar, and the glazed brown breast, which reveals the grain of the wood, have developed a beautiful patina over time.

Each piece is equipped on the back with a hook hole and a small recent metal attachment. I have not found any similar model. No signature or mark is visible. Their handcrafted nature and patina place them among antique pieces.

In generally good condition. Small scattered paint chips, related to age, especially on the heads and wings. Light chip at the edge of the beak on one of the ducks. Visible wood assembly line on the neck of the large model (solid assembly). Round wood disc on the breast of the large model. A few small holes on the back.

Sold as an inseparable lot.
