The Ancien Régime refers to the social, economic, religious, and political organization of the Kingdom of France in all its dimensions before the French Revolution, from the 15th century to the 18th century. With the French Revolution, the regime that existed before is abolished. It therefore becomes "ancien."

Extremely rare and superb Dagger - French officer's sword from the Ancien Régime type, probably produced in the 19th century by Viollet-Le-Duc with a Colichemarde blade. Dark steel handle, engraved in the Rococo style. The blade is beautifully engraved and in very good condition with "Drawings." Shell-shaped plate, (small missing piece on a hook visible in photo No. 8!). The sheath is made of steel, also engraved with figures from the 18th century, with one flat side that probably once held a fixing system, with traces still visible. A very beautiful piece in its original condition, superb! A stunning piece, very pleasant to hold and even more to observe in your display case, 100% original and rare.
