Colonial British Mountain Troops Sabre, Model 1896. Rare piece from my collection, I'm parting with it due to lack of space!

Description:

Superb, very rare, and massive sabre/palash of a British officer from the colonial mountain troops. The handle is very sturdy with a superb steel guard, bronze, and one-branch leather. The blade is in superb condition, with some traces due to age; it is quite massive, marked at the hilt: '' B G '' + other markings on the blade and sheath (photo No.6). The sheath is made of very soft leather with stamped bronze fittings, quite clean! The sabre fits perfectly into its sheath. This is a magnificent original English sabre in good condition, very uncommon. Piece from my collection, I'm parting with it due to lack of space!
