Pair of thick white glass cups and saucers, hand-blown by the glassworks of Vianne. Each piece is marked "Verre de Vianne France," with the manufacturer's V monogram, on the cups as well as under the saucers.

The cups are slightly asymmetrical with a slightly slanted edge, and the shape is not identical from one piece to another. Their material changes according to the light, with variations in texture and fine blowing streaks. The photos hardly capture all the subtleties, which are especially noticeable in hand.

I did not find an identical model in the manufacturer’s catalogs, known primarily for its lighting fixtures. This pair could belong to a special production, but I cannot confirm it.

The set is in very good condition, without chips or cracks. One of the cups shows some marks on the inside and a small imperfection in the glaze, original, on the outside (visible in photos).

Located in Vianne (Lot-et-Garonne), this French glassworks started its operations in the 1920s. Specializing in hand-blown glass, it became known worldwide for its glass lighting fixtures and decorative objects. It has since ceased operations; its legacy is preserved at the glassblowing museum in Vianne.
