Lithograph by Henri Rivière The Aspects of Nature - The Sea A5602 This lithograph “The Aspects of Nature - The Sea” is signed Henri Rivière at the bottom left. The work is authentic and old. Regarding the condition, there are small ink marks and tiny stains in the margin, small tears (ranging from 0.3 cm to 0.4 cm), and signs of folding. On the litho, we note small spots and light stains in the sky. The lithograph's colors are very vibrant; once framed, most defects will be less noticeable. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) is a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing and then with soft-ground etching, specifically aquatint, in 1882. At the same time, he started a career as a stage director and set designer, in 1886, at the shadow theater at the Chat Noir cabaret, improving the shows by creating very innovative colored backdrops. He then devoted himself exclusively to painting and engraving, making a name for himself in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (he painted about a thousand watercolors).
