ENGRAVING LEON LHERMITTE LA VEILLEE IMP E BOULAY Léon Agustin Lhermitte Leon Augustin Lhermitte, better known under the name of Léon Lhermitte, born July 31, 1844 in Mont-Saint-Père (Aisne) and died July 28, 1925 in Paris, is a painter and French naturalist engraver. Léon Lhermitte was born in Picardy in 1844 into a cultivated but modest family. His father, a teacher, noticed his talent for drawing and encouraged him in this field. In 1863, Léon Lhermitte joined as a student the Special School of Drawing and Mathematics, known as “Petite École” (now the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris) under the teaching of Horace Lecoq de Boisbaudran. Then he entered the École des beaux-arts de Paris.Engraver E.Boulay perhaps Evariste Boulay Paty but I cannot confirm it.For the condition, we note small oxidation spots and halos, bites, slight wrinkling of handling, trace of folds in places, small lack, micro - tear ....
