Description

Rare and charming Art Nouveau period jar signed Sarreguemines, in polychrome majolica, with its original lid.

Circa 1885. Tobacco jar of the period that can be repurposed according to your inspirations, as a jewelry box or decorative element. Piece in the shape of Sarreguemines number 3329. Emblematic of the Art Nouveau period with its organic lines and decor featuring fluid shapes evoking plant movement and the aesthetic explorations of the Belle Époque. Voluptuous and dynamic silhouette, sculpted in relief with undulating and asymmetric ribs. Majolica with blended shades of plum purple, mauve pink, amber caramel, cream, and celadon turquoise blue inside. The original lid follows the contours of the body and ends with a delicately shaped button handle. The interior presents a luminous turquoise glaze that elegantly contrasts with the warm and violet tones of the exterior. The body of the jar is in excellent condition, with no chips, well-preserved colors. Beautiful shine of the glaze inside and out. Only on the lid, an old restoration as you can see in the last photo, which does not weaken the overall piece as it was done sturdily. Collector's item, unavailable on the market. ? 14 X 13 cm. ✨ Very careful shipping. ✨ Professional shop. ✨ You will receive an invoice and benefit from after-sales service after each purchase. ✨ We have other listings online, feel free to take a look. 05/26.
