The Order of Leopold II is an order of the Kingdom of Belgium created on August 24, 1900, by King Leopold II as sovereign of the Independent State of the Congo. In 1908, the Order was incorporated into the overall Belgian decorations.

Very beautiful and luxurious cross/knight medal of the Order of Leopold II DE GREEF in Brussels + gold medal with double motto (French + Flemish, after 1952) in its original box as well. Enamelled cross in gilded bronze. With patina and signs of aging. Very pleasant to hold and even more to observe in a display case. Very rare and 100% original.
