The Order of Leopold (in Dutch: Leopoldsorde) is the most important military and civil order of the Kingdom of Belgium. The order functions as a Belgian dynastic order, under the auspices of the King of the Belgians. Founded in 1832, it is named after King Leopold I.
The Order of the Crown (in Dutch: Kroonorde) is the second order of the Kingdom of Belgium, established on October 15, 1897, by King Leopold II as sovereign of the Independent State of the Congo. The purpose of this order was originally to honor heroic deeds and exemplary services rendered in the Congo. In 1908, it was incorporated into the overall Belgian decorations as a colonial order, positioned below the Order of Leopold.

Enamelled cross in gilded bronze with original hot enamels with its swords (for military merit) and the officer's rosette on the ribbon. Made in the second half of the 20th century, double motto (French and Flemish), thus after 1952. Patina and traces due to time. Very pleasant to hold in hands and even more delightful to observe in a showcase. Very rare and 100% original.
