Very pretty little antique pitcher from the late 19th to early 20th century, French craftsmanship stoneware from Puisaye, hand-turned. The neck and handle are ash-glazed in dark brown, with drips at the back and droplets at the front. The body is raw in natural brown and gray tones, simply glazed. It has a bulbous body and a short trumpet-shaped neck with a short spout, and a nice thin handle at the top. Approximately 23cm in maximum height and 15cm in diameter at its widest point. General condition of use, with numerous signs of aging, traces of wear, small chips on the body, neck/spout, and base, and some scratches as well, giving it a relatively harmonious look corresponding to its age. Note the impression of the potter's thumb stamped into the base, an additional witness to its handcrafted manufacture. Approximately 900g.
