Viennese Secession armchair, No. 420 designed for Kohn around 1905. It has been newly upholstered with an original Backhausen fabric named "PFAUENAUGE." The presented model is a Thonet production from the 1925, with a Thonet label. The Thonet-Mundus company, which acquired the KOHN manufacturer in 1922, continued to produce many models initiated by KOHN until around 1935. The Thonet and Kohn factories, initially located in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, are now primarily in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The piece is in perfect condition, with a shellac varnish finish, in American mahogany stain. Brass feet are still patinated.
