Description

The chair model No. 719 F made by the company Jacob Josef Kohn in 1902 is frequently attributed to Koloman Moser, and sometimes to Gustave Siegel. Kohn invented the "90° curve" with the extraction of the compressed part inside the curve; both designers used it in the designs of their models. Dimensions: height: 86 cm, width (ht): 54 cm, depth (ht): 56 cm, and seat height: 44 cm. This chair is a remarkable example of the elegant and innovative aesthetics of Viennese Art Nouveau. This piece in beech and brass reflects the creators' ability of the time to harmoniously combine functionality and decoration. It is found in the Kohn catalog of 1915 and is no longer represented in the catalogs of Thonet/Mundus/Kohn starting from 1920. This chair is upholstered in Backhausen fabric (Zackenkrone, design by Joseph Hoffmann No. MD586A06), and the back of the seat is covered with neutral white leather. We have preserved the brass feet with their patina of experience. More photos and information available upon request. Shipping to France and Europe or pickup in Alsace.
