Description

Vase, Empty Pocket in Old Moorish blown glass.

Superb piece of blown glass from the old Maure Vieil glassworks
the production of “Verriers de Maure-Vieil” focused mainly on glass paste and work on stratified mineral textures, as close as possible to its direct environment.

The intriguing history of glassmaking fully contributes to the charm of the pieces that come from it.

Located on a natural cirque surrounded by wild nature, in the middle of the Caldera (south of France), Maure Vieil is made up of:
• a chapel with modernist and eccentric architecture
• but also a New Age fitness center.
• to which is added the glassware of Maure-vieil.

The Old Maure Glassworks was built in the 1960s.
It closed its doors in the 1990s, leaving a building abandoned since that day.

the Empty Pocket Vase is quite rare and in very good condition, no cracks or chips
Produced in the 60s/70s, this piece is composed of Light Beige, Caramel and Orange colors. Purplish marbling punctuates the pattern.
Fine golden metallic inclusions are also present in the glass tab.
A little different from the mineral work typical of glassware, the light and subtle texture of the piece recalls the diffuse veil of inks that would mix in water.

The Maure Vieil stamp (interlaced M and V) is found sealed under the glassware.
Craftsmanship, high quality. Superb decorative piece or collection

I have a collection of 7 pieces from the Maure Vieille workshops.
