Description

Thonet armchair N°18 ½ called “lady’s armchair”. The dimensions are reduced compared to the standard No. 18. It is dated to Ca, 1870/1875, see the stamp, the label (1b) and the rear curve. (in photo)   This seat is an export model because all the screws of the parts are visible, this made it possible to transport disassembled while reducing the volume. Originally this armchair had a so-called “natural” finish, it has always remained that way, blond; it was recanned manually with cane purchased in Germany in 2.2X2.5mm, (SR weaving)   This piece is entirely original, without restoration, it is stable, symmetrical and usable on a daily basis.
