Here is chair no. 90 by Thonet, a creation from 1899, with production seemingly limited to eleven years, found in the general catalog in 1899. It seems familiar to us but was very little produced, known because it is represented in the preface of the 1899 catalog and in 1904, certainly in a spirit of prototype as its construction is particular, even unique. It is on page no. 20 of the said 1904 catalog next to the Lattenstuhl, another originality. It is the only model that was patented from 1899 to 1904: indeed, the slats are curved in their width and not in their thickness, a true technical feat. The assembly is made with brass rivets creating an opening in the center. The screws that fix the backrest to the posts are those of the Lattenstuhl, which require a specific two-pronged key. The techniques used in the attached photos will be appreciated. Stamped and labeled (2) under the seat. Original cherry color and shellac finish. Total height: 94 cm, Seat: 41X42 cm, Seat height: 47 cm In 1899, the selling price of no. 90 is the same as that of no. 13, double that of no. 14. Its production was 95% done in the factory of Bistritz, the rest at Randomsk, the caned model was produced in 2050 copies and a wooden seat model in 150 copies, from 1898 to 1911. More photos and information available upon request. Delivery to France and Europe or pickup in Alsace. Condition: Used item that has been utilized. Item showing some signs of superficial wear, fully operational and functioning correctly. It may be a demonstration model or an item returned to the store after a short period of use. Any imperfections. Color: Beige Brand: Thonet Type: Chair Height: 94 Length: 45 cm Width: 40 cm
