SILVER BRONZE BY HERMAN HEUSERS ART DECO BUST YOUNG GIRL 1930 ONYX M803 This Art Deco bronze is spectacular, it represents a bust of a smiling young girl. The bronze is silver, typical of the 1930 period, it is very geometric. It rests on an onyx base with a plaque representing an antique subject. Herman Heusers (1872-1938) is a Belgian sculptor who mainly worked in the field of medals (Fisch & Cie) but also made many sculptures in terracotta or other materials in a typical Art Nouveau style. . A famous sculpture is that of the tomb of the Louvois family in the cemetery of Saint-Josse-Ten-Node. We report rubbing and scratches on all of the bronze, spots in places, visible in the photos, slight chips on the onyx. We strive to report the slightest concern, as you can see from the photos the set is in a largely acceptable state. The carving is of high quality and it bears a prestigious signature.
