PORTRAIT YOUNG GIRL BY HENRI LOUBAT 1889 COPPER GOLD STUCCO FRAME A4339 This oil on canvas was produced by Henri Loubat towards the end of the 19th century in 1889. It represents a smiling young girl, probably the painter's daughter. Henri Loubat has numerous prices on Artprice ranging up to several thousand euros. Born in Gaillac on January 10, 1855. He was a pupil of the painter Charles Valette who taught him drawing. Then in Toulouse, he became a pupil of Mr. Sabin. He was admitted to the School of Fine Arts in the pink city and was also a pupil of Jules de Lacger, Gabriel Golse and Cabanel for three years from 1876 to 1879. He brilliantly followed classes with the generation of sculptors Labatut, Sul- Abadié, the architects Tillet and Leher, and the somewhat younger painter Henri Martin. From 1877, he exhibited his portrait in Toulouse at the Exhibition and two years later, he sent three other portraits to Castres. Henri Loubat would remain a professor at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts for 43 years until his death on July 14, 1926. He died at the age of 71 when the city of Toulouse had just entrusted him with one of the large panels from the foyer of the Capitole theatre. The frame is in stucco with copper gilding, some friction and wear to report. We report a deformation on the top of the canvas, cracks, rubbing and white marks, small paint jumps, all visible in the photos. The work is sold unrestored, with a summary cleaning, it remains largely hangable. For the state thank you for detailing the photos. The photos are an integral part of the description.
