Biblical scene of the Massacre of the Innocents, based on an ivory bas-relief by the sculptor F. van Bossuit (1635–1692), drawn by B. Graat and etched by M. Pool around 1710–1730. A fine and detailed work, typical of the Dutch Baroque school. Antique gilded wooden frame (slight wear on one corner), deep burgundy fabric marquise, very elegant. A few dust particles under the glass, otherwise the ensemble is in nice general condition, clean paper and no tears. The back of the frame is neat and clean. • Frame dimensions: 29 × 22.8 cm • View under the marquise: 26.7 × 20.8 cm • Engraving: approx. 18.5 × 12.5 cm • Weight: approx. 600 g Authentic and decorative work, of a beautiful print quality.
