LARGE VASE JULES VIEILLARD ET COMPAGNIE AMEDEE DE CARANZA BORDEAUX THREE CROISSANTS EARTHENWARE M910This is an exceptional vase in several respects. Indeed, the size is there, we find the refined enamel technique of Jules Vieillard in Bordeaux. The decor represents fantastic birds and foliage. It is rare to find this type of piece. On the hollow back, mark of the Jules Vieillard et Compagnie factory with the three intertwined crescents which takes up the coat of arms of the city of Bordeaux. This mark indicates a manufacturing period between 1868 and 1895, that is to say at the time when the two sons of Jules Vieillard, Charles and Albert, ran the factory. this type of decor could be attributed to the presence of Amédée de Caranza, but I cannot confirm that. Jules Vieillard was born in 1813 in Paris and died in 1868 in Bordeaux. He was the director of the fine earthenware factory in Bordeaux from 1845 to 1868. The factory will exceed 1400 workers, and increase its notoriety with the exterior decoration of monuments and fountains with architectural ceramics. There is a hollow mark on the base BORDEAUX I.V. Cie 271 R 2 For the condition, note a restoration on the neck, small stains on the base and on the bottom, and égrenures on the neck and around the foot, rubbing on the most rounded part of the barrel. However, it remains in a good state of preservation. This vase will require special packaging. Our many photos allow you to appreciate the quality of the object. For the state thank you for detailing the photos. Feel free to zoom. The photos are an integral part of the description. Dimensions: Height: 56.5 cm Width: 13 cm Length: 13.3 cm I remain at your disposal for any questions.
