Very beautiful vintage chessboard from the 70s, handmade in Italy. Made of natural white and black marble, complete with black marble pieces, some veined with white, and translucent white/onyx marble. Board size is 34x34cm, with a thickness of 1.5cm. For the white pieces, 8 pawns + 4 replacement pawns, all in very good condition, 4.5cm in height. 2 knights + 1 replacement, in very good condition, 5.8cm in height. 2 rooks, one with a re-glued head, very discreet, 5.5cm in height. 2 bishops, in very good condition, 5.5cm in height. 2 kings, in very good condition, 6.8cm in height. 1 queen, one branch of the crown re-glued, 7.5cm in height. For the black pieces, 8 pawns + 6 replacements, in very good condition. 2 knights + 1 replacement, in very good condition. 2 rooks + 2 replacements, in very good condition. 2 bishops + 2 replacements, in very good condition. 1 king + 1 replacement, in very good condition. 1 queen, in very good condition. The board is in good condition but shows a little use and wear, overall very clean. Some pieces may have small discreet marks of time. The underside of the board is felted, a bit worn but not bothersome. Weighs about 6,500-7kg for the whole set.
